The launch of the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology Ethics and Integrity Club (DeEIC)
The DeKUT Nairobi Campus launched the Dedan Kimathi University of Technology Ethics and Integrity Club (DeEIC) after successfully implementing our University's Global Integrity Education Project (GIE). The club was registered on 5th July 2023, patronized by the Director Institute of Criminology, Forensics and Security Studies and Nairobi Campus.
The GIE project is funded by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), aiming to develop and implement an innovative way in which ethics and integrity education content can be mainstreamed in the University teaching programs in three countries: Kenya, Pakistan and Mexico.
The club members have participated in several activities such as Regional and Global efforts to advance the anti-corruption agenda in Africa at the UN Complex Gigiri, AmpliYouth Advocacy Essentials Training, UNCAC belongs to Youth: African Youth 2030 Vision, African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption At 20: Achievements and Prospects, Arab Youth Anti-corruption Hackathon, UNODC Consultation for Young Changemakers on Corruption in the Digital World, Kenya Ethics Ambassadors Network Consultative meeting, GIE-Training of Trainers (TOTs) workshop at USIU-AFRICA, Kenya Ethics Ambassadors Network Launch at UN Complex Gigiri, KEPSA Launch of the Bribery Act booklet and seminar on the implementation of Bribery Laws, and the Rising Leaders Symposium at the American Center in the United States of America Embassy. The team has also visited The Corner Brook School to discuss ethics and integrity with pupils.
