DeKUT Nairobi Campus Annual Sports Day

At DeKUT we understand that education is not just about academic knowledge and skills but the holistic development of a person. Through involvement in various co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as sports, we help students become the best they can be by developing their intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potentials.

On 21st  September 2019, DeKUT Nairobi Campus successfully organized an annual sports day at the Railways Sports Club. Stanley Ngata, the sports manager, Eunice Mburu Nairobi Campus Administrator and Wambui Maina the Public Relations Officer(PRO) Nairobi Campus aided in the activities of the day. We were also joined by the student’s rugby team from the main campus, which helped in making the sports more competitive. This event provided a perfect opportunity for our students to develop and utilize their talents in various sporting disciplines. Besides, the event brought about harmony between the staff and the students as a whole through healthy competition and providing an opportunity for physical and social growth.

Different activities took place such as; Tae Kwando (warm-up and aerobics) in the morning, 100-meter races, sack race, egg race, tug of war, football, dancing, and team building.  There-after  was  the  awarding  of  the  best  performances  in  the  different categories of the activities.

The winning team in the team building category won as a result of having integrity which is a major core value for the institute of criminology, forensic and security studies.
